There is no better time to visit Princeton than in the fall! Princeton's charming streets are filled with unique shops and great restaurants. For casual dining, we recommend Small World Coffee, Princeton Soup and Sandwich, Tico’s Eatery and Juice Bar, and Jammin' Crepes. The Bent Spoon is also a must! For more upscale dining, we recommend Agricola Eatery, Mistral, Teresa Caffe, and Mediterra. For drinks, the Yankee Doodle Tap Room at the Nassau Inn is a great option. We also recommend Alchemist & Barrister and Triumph Brewery.
The campus is beautiful and absolutely worth seeing. Be sure to check out the Princeton University Art Museum — it's free!
This Revolutionary War battlefield is about a mile outside of town. If you choose to walk, you will pass Albert Einstein's house and the Institute for Advanced Study. Don't miss the hiking trails through the woods once you arrive!

Grounds For Sculpture is a 42-acre sculpture park, museum, and arboretum founded on the site of the former New Jersey State Fairgrounds. The Grounds has various on-premise cafes — we recommend ordering a picnic from the Peacock Cafe or grabbing brunch at Rats Restaurant.
Only a 10-minute drive from town, Terhune Orchards is a great family-friendly option. Activities include apple picking, barnyard animal interactions, and wine tastings.
We highly recommend extending your visit to spend time in New York, however a day trip is definitely doable. The City is about on hour away via car, or 45 minutes on the New Jersey Transit.
Though there is no train service to Philadelphia from Princeton, it is a very easy, one-hour drive. You can hit most of the main attractions in one day. We recommend Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, Old City, the Philadelphia Art Museum, and Reading Terminal Market. For great shopping and restaurants check out Rittenhouse Square and Society Hill.
