Travel Note
For those of you who want to drive out to Steamboat Springs, CO it is about a 17-18 hour drive from Southern WI/Northern IL. If you choose to go through Wyoming and come into Steamboat from the north it is a 17 hour drive. If you go through Denver it adds an additional hour and is an 18 hour drive. The drive can be done straight through or with overnight stops depending on your preference. If you are stopping overnight book your hotels ahead of time because the hotels en route fill up fast (especially if there are high winds, rain, sleet, or snow). Some of the best towns to stop in are Council Buff, IA and Oglala, NE. If you have further questions about driving directions or places to stop along the way please reach out.
Flight
Flights into Denver tend to be cheaper. You will need to rent a car or get a shuttle into Steamboat Springs which is a three hour drive away. This option is best if you have a group of people willing to split the cost of a rental car. Remember, this is Mountain driving and early April can bring snow showers and snow storms. With that being said it is a beautiful drive and can be a lot of fun if you have never done it before.
Flight
Steamboat/Hayden Airport (HDN) is extremely convenient; easy to get in and out as it is a smaller airport, and is only 30 minutes from town. There are several options to get to town; including renting a car, shuttle services, and taxis. We can pick people up personally depending on the date & time of your scheduled flight. Just let us know if we are able to accommodate.
Flight
Remember to check Southwest Airlines because they are not listed on any travel websites (Priceline, Expedia, etc). They are affordable and allow two bags to fly for free (containing one set of snow skis, ski poles, and boots). Each count as one item, even if they are packed and tagged separately. My personal favorite sites to use for booking flights are Kayak and Google Flights. Both of these sites have the capability of setting alerts for high and low fare prices.

This hotel is located right by the Safeway grocery store and is between the Mountain and downtown Steamboat Springs. They do not offer a shuttle but are on the bus route. The Residence Inn is a great place to stay if a group of people or multiple couples are planning on staying together. They have single king rooms available but also offer king suites, 1 bedroom suits, and 2 bedroom suits. There are discounts for prepaying and if you are a Marriott rewards member.

The Sheraton is located right at the base of the Mountain and is perfect for those of you looking to ski and/or spend time in Ski Time Square. You can walk right to the gondola and lift lines from the hotel. This hotel does not offer a shuttle service but is on the bus line. They do offer villas with multiple rooms as well as single king bed options.
