Fort Lauderdale Airport or Miami International Airport

South Florida has two main airports. Miami International and Fort Lauderdale airport. We suggest you fly into Fort Lauderdale airport as it is closer to the venue and hotel suggestions. Orlando and Tampa airports are 4 hour drives and we do not recommend flying into those airports.

Travel Note

Uber from the Airport

The travel time from Fort Lauderdale Airport is 27-30 minutes and the cost to take an uber is between $24-31USD. Miami Airport is around 40 minutes and the cost to take an uber is between $43-56USD. We would not recommend staying in miami for a night because the 40 minutes depends on traffic and the time that you are arriving. In the alternative if you think you will be too tired for the drive then staying in Miami for the night is fine too. It’s up to you.

Airport Car Rentals or TURO

Both airports, Miami international airport and Fort Lauderdale airport have all the basic car rentals available. South Florida is a large area and does require a car to get around. Ubers can become expensive. There is an app called Turo where you can rent cars from private persons. We have used this app before and it has given us great rates on car rentals, good condition cars and often times the company will pick you up right from the airport and there will be less paperwork. Also, Florida is a driving State and don’t forget we drive on the right side here!

Where to stay

The venue is in Weston, Florida. Weston is about 15 to 20 minutes to Sawgrass Mills mall. You can either book a hotel room at the suggested hotels or you can book any hotel next to Sawgrass Mills and you would safely be close to the Venue. If you wish to stay in an Airbnb: The areas that are close by are Weston, Davie, Sunrise, Cooper City and Pembroke Pines.
