There are 3,000+ miles of free, public hiking trails near Asheville, including 1,600 miles in the Pisgah and Nantahala National Forests, 850 miles in Great Smoky Mountains National Park and many more along the Blue Ridge Parkway and in state parks and forests. The Blue Ridge Parkway spans 252 stunning miles in North Carolina, treating you to breathtaking views along the way. Known as “America’s Favorite Drive,” the Parkway is the second most-visited attraction in the National Park Service. You can hop on the parkway very easily from Asheville.

Asheville is internationally known for its incredible beer scene, and in fact is only second in the US in breweries per capita! The city is jam-packed with craft beer gardens and tap rooms galore. Our favorites are Wicked Weed, Sierra Nevada, New Belgium, Burial, Asheville Brewing Co, and Bhramari Brewing.

The Biltmore Estate sits on 8,000 acres of land and is the largest privately owned home in America. You can tour the 250-room house as well as take a walk through the beautiful gardens and conservatory. The estate's Antler Village includes dining, shopping, exhibits, and wine tasting.

The River Arts District is a mile-long stretch of 25+ buildings housing 300+ artists along the beautiful French Broad River. Visit the working studios and galleries of hundreds of artists– showcasing painting, pottery, jewelry, glass, metal, wood and much more. It's open every day, and on the second Saturday of each month (which happens to be our wedding weekend), the River Arts District holds gallery walks with demonstrations, workshops, live music, wine tastings, delicious food, and more.
