If it's your first time in Egypt. Here are some tips for travel and stay!

Flight

Flight Information

Travelling to Cairo Airport is the best option. It is best to arrive at least a day to settle and take some rest before the wedding. Try to book as early as possible in order to get good flight deals! Beware that not all airlines include a checked-in luggage. Keep in mind that you will have to buy a Visa if you do not have proof of Egyptian citizenship. The cost of this is €20 and can be paid by credit/debit card. Avoid paying in cash to prevent a hassle with currencies. Stand in the line for the Visa first and then proceed to the line for customs. Consider that this process may take a couple of hours, especially during the busy summer time.

Here's a list of recommended hotels as alternatives to Waldorf Astoria: - Radisson Blu Hotel, Cairo Heliopolis - Concorde El Salam Cairo By Royal Tulip - Triumph Plaza Hotel Airbnb is definitely an option as well! Various sub-districts within Masr el Gedida are Heliopolis, Ard el Golf and el Korba. We would recommend that you look for Airbnb's in these locations. Transport Information

Using Uber in Egypt is the most convenient and affordable way to get around for any trip (including from/to the airport). Keep the following things in mind to ensure a smooth experience. 1. Choose the Right Ride Option - UberX: The most common and affordable option. - Uber Select: A slightly more premium option with better cars. We recommend Uber Select. 2. Payment Methods and Tips Uber in Egypt accepts cash and credit/debit cards. We recommend credit/debit cards. In this way, you don't have to worry about counting foreign money under pressure. It is also possible to tip. Although not mandatory, it rounding up the fare or adding 5-10 EGP is an appreciated gesture for good service. 3. Confirm the Driver & Car Before getting in, verify the license plate, driver’s name, and car model in the app. Many drivers may ask for your destination before starting the trip, but your details are already in the app, so just confirm politely. 4. Safety Tips - Always sit in the back seat for personal space and safety. - A driver may cancel the ride after you board and ask for cash instead—insist on keeping the trip active in the app. If the driver asks for extra money or refuses to start the ride, cancel and report them in the app. - If you feel uncomfortable, use the “Emergency” feature in the Uber app. This has never happened to us, it is just for you to have all the information necessary!
