Josh and Abbie met when they were both awkward young adults. Abbie was back home for her first break from freshman year of college, and Josh was nerding his way through sophomore year at the Colorado School of Mines. They met up at Chick-fil-A with a group of mutual friends after a young adults church service. Josh apparently remembers exactly what Abbie was wearing that night they first met; on the other hand, Abbie assumed they had met a few years prior in high school and vaguely recollects the encounter. This Chick-fil-BAE experience sparked something in Josh that would not ignite for many years to come.
Josh's first attempts to pursue Abbie were not met with success. He was hatching plans left and right in order to spend time alone with her, but she was too oblivious to catch on. However, over the next several years, Josh and Abbie became very close friends through countless trips, dangerous adventures, and simple summer nights with all of their best friends. Little did they know that after seven years of thinking highly of each other, and hoping to find someone like the other, they would end up feeling that little spark together!
Abbie spent all of college telling herself and her friends to wait around for someone like her sweet, humble, adventurous BFF Josh Morsicato, but never considered dating the man himself. In December 2019, Abbie noticed that Josh had been asking her to hang out more frequently, and that he was slowly inviting fewer and fewer people along on these hangouts. One night, she and Josh went rock climbing at Earth Treks, and Abbie had a random epiphany that Josh had all of the qualities (+more) that were on her list of 17 things she wanted in a partner. She went into panic mode trying to get that weird thought out of her head... Josh was like a brother, after all! For the next few weeks, Josh and Abbie hung out a bunch, like normal, and Abbie was patiently waiting for Josh to make the move. One night they were driving back from an event downtown together when Josh awkwardly looked at Abbie and asked "Do you...um...wanna...go on a...date sometime?" Abbie then also got extremely awkward, but smiled and said, "Yes!! I've been hoping you would ask me that!" And here we are... welcome to our wedding website!
