How We Met

11.19.21

Ryan was a hopeless romantic looking for his soul mate. Tara, on the other hand, was a free-spirited traveler, seeking adventures and stories from the places she has lived. They both had unique yet complementary personalities that made them stand out. One fateful evening, as Ryan was scrolling through his matches on Hinge, he stumbled upon Tara's profile. Intrigued by her vibrant smile and the stories she shared about her travels, he mustered the courage to send her a message, hoping to strike up a conversation. Tara, delighted by Ryan's genuine and engaging message, eagerly responded. They started chatting about their shared interests, like sports, traveling, and trying new cuisines. Ryan's passion for creating mesmerizing topics of conversation and Tara's fascination with capturing moments through photos seemed to blend seamlessly together. As they continued conversing, they realized that they had an easy flow of conversation and a unique connection that kept them coming back for more. They laughed at each other's jokes, discussed their dreams, and even shared their vulnerabilities, comfortable with the warmth and acceptance they found in each other. After a few weeks of exchanging messages, and a period of time when Tara ghosted Ryan for 2 weeks, Ryan and Tara decided it was time to meet in person. They chose an interesting brewery in the heart of the city, a place known for its quirky ambiance and delicious beers. On the day of their long-awaited rendezvous, Ryan arrived first, his heart pounding nervously. Moments later, Tara entered the brewery. Their eyes met, and they both felt an instant spark, as if they had known each other for ages. With every sip of beer and bites of steak, Ryan and Tara shared stories, dreams, and aspirations. The hours flew by in a whirlwind of laughter and heartfelt conversations, oblivious to the world around them. As the evening drew to a close, they realized that their connection extended beyond the virtual world of the dating app. It was a connection that had bloomed into something beautiful, something they both eagerly wanted to nurture. However, Ryan wanted one last experience of independence so on that night after he sent his damsel home, he went to Salt & Straw to indulge in the city’s best ice cream And so, Ryan and Tara's love story continued to unfold, filled with adventures, shared dreams, and creative endeavors. They supported each other's passions and celebrated their individuality, finding solace and joy in each other's company. The once-online strangers had become inseparable, proving that love could blossom from a simple swipe and that the magic of connection could turn two lives into a beautiful masterpiece.

The Proposal

8.26.23

Ryan had been meticulously planning the perfect proposal for months, envisioning a magical day at the enchanting winery called 14 Acres. It was nestled amidst picturesque vineyards and had a romantic charm that he knew Tara would adore. Little did Ryan know that fate had a different plan in store for them. As the day of the proposal drew near, Ryan noticed that Tara seemed a bit off. Worried, he gently asked what was troubling her. Tara hesitated before revealing the unfortunate news - she had tested positive for COVID-19. Ryan's heart sank, as he knew it meant that his carefully laid plans would need to be put on hold. However, he refused to let their love story be derailed by this unexpected turn of events. With determination in his heart, he vowed to make the proposal as special as possible. He reached out to the staff at 14 Acres, explaining the situation. Moved by their love story, the winery staff were more than willing to help bring Ryan's proposal to life. They brainstormed ideas, considering every detail to ensure that Tara would feel cherished and loved despite the circumstances. On the day of the proposal, after 5 days of quarantine, Ryan called Tara to see how she was feeling. She eagerly responded with “I can jump up and down and my head doesn’t hurt”. Encouraged by her response Ryan decided to go through with the plan he had been planning for months. Unbeknownst to Tara, Ryan had secretly organized Tara’s parents and cousin to fly in from out of state. Ryan made the necessary calls and put his secret plan into motion. As they arrived at the winery, they were treated to a grand tour of the vineyard and were set up at a magical table in the middle of the grape vines. After the overflowing abundance of wine and cheese filled their bellies, a majestic guitarist playing in the background and a member of the media snapping photos from a distance for a distinguished magazine, Ryan guided Tara to the local pond, gracefully got down on one knee, held up a ring, and asked the magical question: "Tara, will you marry me?" Tara's eyes welled up with tears as she replied with a resounding "That’s Nice." Despite her sarcastic reply, their love and connection were stronger than ever. It may not have been the proposal Ryan initially envisioned, but it became a testament to the strength of their love and their ability to overcome any obstacle. The winery, with its scenic beauty and the warmth of its staff, had played an integral role in making their story even more extraordinary. And so, Ryan and Tara's proposal at 14 Acres became a tale of resilience, creativity, and the enduring power of love - a story they would carry with them for a lifetime.
