FAQs

Question

When should I book my room?

Answer

As soon as possible. Steamboat Springs is a beloved mountain town, especially in July when summer tourism peaks. Hotels, lodges, and vacation rentals tend to book out months in advance—and prices rise the closer you get to the date. We recommend securing your accommodations by early spring 2026 at the latest. Many hotels require a two-night minimum stay, and availability can be limited for single-night bookings.

Question

Can I bring a guest, +1, or my children?

Answer

We’re keeping the celebration intimate, so attendance is limited to those specifically named on your invitation. If your invite includes a +1, we’d love to welcome them! As much as we adore your little ones, this will be an adults-only event.

Question

Are there lodging options for a big group?

Answer

If you're traveling with a pack, there are plenty of options! AirBnB and VRBO have some great finds, but The Steamboat Grand also offers spacious suites and penthouses perfect for group hangs. Just a heads-up: they require a 4-night minimum, so make sure your search dates reflect that - otherwise those rooms won't show up in the link with our discount code.

Question

How do we get to the wedding ceremony and reception?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will take place at Four Points Lodge, a beautiful mountaintop venue above Steamboat Springs. At the Steamboat Base Area, please check in at the Steamboat Gondola and be sure to load the gondola no later than 4:30 p.m. From there, you’ll ride up the mountain with stunning views along the way. At the top, a private shuttle will be waiting to take you the rest of the way to Four Points Lodge. Please keep this in mind when booking accommodations as ride share services are limited.

Question

What if there's inclement weather leading up to or during the ceremony?

Answer

The plan is to ride the gondola up to the ceremony - scenic and very Colorado. But if lightning crashes the party and refuses to leave, then a shuttle will whisk guests up to 4 Points Lodge from the Gondola Transit Center (right at the base of the mountain). No need to stress - we'll keep everyone in the loop day-of if Mother Nature gets moody.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Welcome Drinks: Upscale Western Wear Western-inspired with a semi-formal feel. Denim on denim is encouraged—bring out your favorite jeans, chambray shirts, jackets, and coordinated layers. Cowboy boots, bolo ties, and cowboy hats are absolutely welcome. If Denim on denim isn't your vibe - no worries! Semi‑formal dresses in midi lengths, refined florals, solid colors, and suit blazers are all welcome. Think cowboy chic with a little flair, and don’t be afraid to lean into the look. Ceremony and Reception: Mountain Cocktail We encourage cocktail attire with a mountain twist. For women, think midi or cocktail‑length dresses in soft colors or florals, paired with heels or boots that won’t mind a little on‑mountain wandering. For men, suit jackets or blazers with dress pants and dress shoes or boots. Please no denim for Saturday events. Mountain evenings cool off quickly, so a light layer will be your best friend once the sun dips behind the peaks.

Question

What is altitude sickness, and how can I prevent it?

Answer

Steamboat Springs sits at 6,732 feet above sea level, which means the air is thinner and contains less oxygen than what your body may be used to. As your body adjusts, you might experience symptoms like headache, dizziness, shortness of breath, fatigue, or nausea—especially if you’re coming from lower elevations. How to prevent it: Hydrate well before and during your trip—water is your best friend at altitude. Ascend gradually if possible. While it's not necessary, spending a night or two in Denver (5,280 ft) before heading to Steamboat can help your body acclimate. Be careful when consuming alcohol and caffeine as they can dehydrate you and worsen symptoms. Take it easy on arrival—give your body time to adjust before strenuous activity. If you feel symptoms: Rest, hydrate, and avoid exertion. Most symptoms subside within a few hours and typically resolve within a day. If symptoms persist or worsen, descending to a lower elevation is the most effective treatment. For more details, check out these helpful resources: https://www.uchealth.org/today/altitude-sickness/
