If you are staying for 7 days or less, you will not need a visa. If you are planning on staying longer or traveling anywhere else in Mexico, you will need a visa. When crossing by land, you are able to stop at the border and get a visa for $25. If you are flying directly into Mexico, one is provided upon arrival at any airport free of charge.
Crossing the border into Mexico is very easy! It is typically about a 5 minute drive across, with no stops necessary unless you are getting a visa. Crossing back into the United States can be a little more complicated. There is typically a long wait in the border line (anywhere from 1-5 hours). If we are helping you arrange transportation, you will need to walk across the border unless you are a Sentri/Global Entry/Nexus holder. Our driver will drop you off right where the walking border starts, you will take all of your luggage with you, and walk across the customs border. The driver will then pick you up on the other side. Don't worry - people do this all the time and it's very easy and safe!
Since many of our guests are traveling, the easiest way to get us a wedding gift is by choosing something off of our registry and directly shipping it to us instead of bringing it to the wedding. The registry section of our website has the things we would love for our home and honeymoon. The registry as the option to buy directly from the different websites and ship straight to us -- no need for you to travel with any excess weight! All gifts can be addressed to: Alberto Zempual 1101 Bay Blvd, Suite C Chula Vista, CA, USA 91911
