The novel coronavirus has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. The novel coronavirus is extremely contagious and is believed to spread mainly from person-to-person contact. Federal, state, and local governments and federal and state health agencies have recommended the use of face masks and social distancing as a means of limiting the risk of exposure. As a result of the coronavirus, our wedding will probably have more structure than you are used to at other, earlier weddings. In addition to having assigned seating, we will be implementing more structure in controlling the movement of our guests and how we move from the ceremony to the reception to the dancing. It won’t be the typical wedding of years past given where we are in Montana’s phased re-opening – but we will have a lot of fun! We, along with the venue and all of the vendors that will be there to serve you, have taken many precautions in order to try to keep you safe. Nevertheless, by attending this wedding, you are acknowledging that you are aware of the contagious nature of the novel coronavirus, are voluntarily assuming the risk that you may be exposed to or infected by this coronavirus, and are understanding that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, or death. By coming, you are also agreeing to release the venue, all of the vendors we have arranged to be there to serve you, and us, from any claim related to any infectious disease, whether an infection occurs before, during, or after participation at our wedding.
We met working as camp counselors at Camp Timberline in the summer of 2018. We were co-basketball coaches for the day camp and became good friends during the five weeks of working together in such a Spirit-rich environment reaching kids for the Kingdom. After the first five weeks I went home, but Josh stayed to work another five weeks up in Estes Park, CO. The Lord put it on my heart to encourage him so I wrote him a letter and sent it up to camp, not expecting a response. Josh, receiving the letter, began to form his "heart sparkle" for me. He wrote back, letters were lost, and there was months between responses. However, the Lord's timing is always perfect! We wrote letters and talked on the phone at every opportunity we got, since many, many miles stood between Phoenix, AZ and Bozeman, MT where we were attending college.
By the winter of 2018, we both made it home for Christmas time at our families houses in Colorado. We could finally meet up in person and it was only a 52 minute drive, praise Jesus! After many conversations and the time we got in person together, we decided to begin the long distance dating journey and three days later we left to go back to Phoenix and to Bozeman.
We continued to faithfully write each other letters and made a promise to see each other in person once a month. This was the time of creative "date nights" of eating pizza together over Facetime and buying expensive flights just to see each other for a couple of days at a time. This was a time of learning to trust in the Lord (Proverbs 3:5-6) even when the distance seemed unbearable.
We were finally back in Colorado together working at Camp Timberline for another summer! Josh was a SHIFT counselor and had the opportunity to lead juniors and seniors in high school closer to the Lord, going on adventures, and serving the other kiddos at camp. I was a Beyond Timberline guide and led week long backpacking trips for teens in the Rocky Mountains to show them the incredible love, power, and grace of our Lord Jesus. This season was full of abundance in Jesus, refinement in our identities in Christ, and another chance to love kids for the Kingdom! Thank you, Jesus, for the summer that totally transformed our hearts and our relationship.
After camp, Josh was able to take his last class online through GCU so he could move up to Bozeman! No more long distance!! We learned a lot during this time, but these are precious memories we will never forget. On October 26th, Josh planned a whole day of surprises for me and proposed on top of Pete's Hill, one of our favorite places in Bozeman. He, of course, proposed with a letter and we both could not have been more JOYFUL!!
We are now in a season of being engaged, what a sweet thing it is to be able to call each other our fiances! We have been preparing for our wedding day, but also our MARRIAGE. We cannot wait for you all to witness and celebrate what the Lord has done in bringing Josh and I together! AOL - Amped on Life AO1 - Audience of One Thank you Jesus!!
