They met at a climbing competition at Riveter (RIP). Kensley showed up alone. Patrick was competing and with a group of friends. A mutual friend pawned Kensley off on the guys. They both mentioned they lived in Leicester, so Kensley gave Patrick her number. But, she wasn't paying attention, so she said her recited her number incorrectly. The night progressed with Kensley completing forgetting about this interaction. A few weeks later, Kensley and Patrick continue to bump into each other several times at the climbing gym. They climb together. They laugh together. They share Patrick's airpods to listen to Kendrick Lamar. Eventually, they both go to Publix, as Florida transplants do, and bond over pub subs.
After a few weeks of climbing together, Kensley and Patrick go to a concert for a mutual friend's band, Pocket Strange (again RIP). Kensley dances like an absolute idiot, and for some reason Patrick is into it. They go to a bar for the after party, where *gasp* they hold hands. A couple weeks later, they find themselves in the River Arts District (again RIP). They're in the Marquee looking at art, giggling over hand mannequins, and having an amazing time. After an hour or so, they look at each other and decide, yeah this is actually a date.
