So, like most people, I have always liked Christmas. And like most people, I have always liked decorating my home with the perfect amount of decorations (ok, maybe a little more then most). Flash forward to December 2016 when I began dating my husband-to-be, Ryan Johns. Lets just say Ryan is NOT most people. RYAN.LOVES.CHRISTMAS! Have you ever seen the show "Great Christmas light fight"? yea, its like that. In the grand scheme of things, I probably met Ryan at the worst/best time of his year. The worst because Ryan not only decorates HIS house so it can be seen from outer space, but also helps decorate his PARENT’S house as well. Oh yea, and did I mention he also helps decorate his church, sings in the church band every Sunday, helps plan his church's holiday bazaar and live nativity, as well as his own large family Christmas party? Yea, the man is a machine. That said, as busy as he was, it was the best because it was the start of the holiday season. This is Ryan’s favorite time of year, and as we all know from watching all those Hallmark movies (yes, Ryan has made me watch them all) that the holiday is a GREAT time to fall in love, and I did. That December, amongst the 101 things Ryan HAD to do, he always made "us" time. Whether it was hanging out with our families or visiting 34th St. so we could see the lights and he could meet my best friend. Ryan always made the time, without making me feeling like I was an inconvenience. Being a part of the craziness that Ryan calls "Christmas time" that 1st year really gave me a glimpse into the man I'm now going to marry. A man who is not only reliable, confident and out going, but also brings tremendous love and joy to all those around him with the warmth of his beautiful smile and the love in his enormous heart. I can easily say that with Ryan in my life, Christmas has and will forever be changed for the better, and I can't wait for many many more.
