It was a Wednesday night. First night of the season, Brittni had decided to play on a recreational dodgeball league with some friends she had met in California. Kenny had been running this league for many years and so he knew all the new faces and knew Brittni was a newby. Brittni spotted him the first night and told her friend Amber (bridesmaid) "hey he's kind of cute!" Come to find out, Kenny spotted her the first day of the new season as well! As the next week begins, both parties eagerly await seeing each other, having no idea they were both feeling the same way. With some encouragement and assistance from her friends, at the end of week two's games, Brittni and two of her teammates approach Kenny. The outgoing and fun seeking dodgeball crew frequented a nearby bar called "VIP" on several nights after the on-site bar at dodgeball shut down. This night would be one of those nights. Kenny had rallied the group to ensure he would have a chance to hang out with Brittni as much as he could, in hopes of getting to know her better. Turns out, that was her goal as well. At "VIP", the infamous drink of choice was Soju. After the first few pitchers went down, and countless laughs around the table, the bond was beginning to form. After some gymnastic shenanigans ensued, we were finally kicked out as the bar was starting to close. Kenny, at this point, knew Brittni had a gymnast background and in a sad attempt to impress her, challenged her to a handstand contest. Brittni never admitted it but she was pretty impressed. What finally sealed the deal in this eventful night, was Kenny learning about Brittni's Raynaud's condition where her hands get VERY cold. Kenny, being the natural heater he is, lended some of his body heat to warm her hands. They chatted in the "VIP" parking lot right up until Kenny had no other choice but to head home to try and beat his Uncle there who was picking him up to head to work at 6 am. And the rest is history!
So here we are in Florida, on what I (Brittni) had thought was to watch Kenny play in a football tournament and also just a little mini vacation for us as well. I had never been to Disney World and so I had asked Kenny if we could go there for a few days. Wednesday, January 15, 2020, we woke up, showered and got ready to get on the shuttle to go to Disney for the day. We took the ferry across the water and when we got there Kenny had said first thing we should do is go to the photographer right in front of the castle so we can get that picture done before it gets too busy. It gets to be our turn in, so we stand and smile and the photographer is doing his thing, snapping away. I jump on Kenny's back and take a few more pictures before I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around and could not believe what my eyes saw! My family, Kenny's family and some of our closest friends were all standing there. I HAD NO IDEA ANYONE WAS COMING!!! ( my eyes watering as I write this! ) I was in such shock! I ran and gave everyone hugs and then turned around and Kenny was down on one knee. I couldn't believe this was happening!! Of course I said yes! It was seriously the most magical moment of my life and we have it all captured in pictures and video to reminisce on that wonderful day. It was so awesome that Kenny had planned this all without me knowing at all!
