Things To Do

One of our favorite activities is to explore, and we've spent so many wonderful weekends wandering through this beautiful corner of Michigan. Come check out the places where we fell in love—from the energy of the city to the cozy streets of our wedding weekend home. We hope you find some magic here, too!

Downtown Detroit

Detroit, MI

Our favorite pretty little city and the backdrop to some of our absolute favorite date night memories. If you are flying in or looking for a vibrant city day-trip, start here! Check out the award-winning Detroit Riverwalk to catch gorgeous views of the skyline and Canada across the water. Grab a coffee and sit by the fountains at Campus Martius Park, or wander through Eastern Market to see incredible local street art, food, and culture.

Downtown Chelsea

Chelsea, MI 48118

The heart of our wedding weekend! This historic, walkable small town is packed with charm, great food, and local arts. Local Shops, Markets, Restaurants, you name it - a family owns it. Take a stroll down Main Street. Catch an intimate play at the Purple Rose Theatre (founded by Chelsea’s own Jeff Daniels), do a spirits tasting at Ugly Dog Distillery, or browse the local boutiques. You absolutely cannot miss The Common Grill—it’s a local legend for fresh, upscale American bistro dining in a gorgeous 100-year-old restored brick building. For a casual morning coffee and pastry, pop into Zou Zou’s Cafe.

Ann Arbor

Ann Arbor, MI

Just a short 20-minute drive from Chelsea, this is a world-class university town bursting with energy, food, and culture. Don't forget to take a stroll past Michigan Stadium, The Big House —the largest stadium in the United States—to feel the incredible "Go Blue!" energy.
