Comfortable Attire
The term “aufruf” (often pronounced oof-roof) means “calling up” in Yiddish, and refers to the custom that the couple be called to the Torah in the synagogue on the Shabbat preceding their wedding. Come join us at IKAR for morning services, pelt us with some candy, dance a bit, and stay for a vegetarian Kiddush (lunch)!
4:00 pm
For the wedding day, black tie attire is highly encouraged - We hope you’ll join us dressed in a way that feels polished, joyful, and formal. We invite you to lean into elegance, whether that means classic black tie, creative black tie, or gender-expansive attire. Most of all, we want you to feel confident, dressed up, and entirely yourself. Bring shoes you can dance in! Please avoid white.
