We did it

We met through a mutual friend in San Francisco. She was Kennedy's roommate at a high school summer camp in 2008 and one of Sam's roommates when he first moved to the US, and now is married to Sam's best friend. Talk about a small world! We met for dinner at what's become our favorite Peruvian spot and talked for almost five hours getting to know each other. The next day, we met at a park to enjoy the sunshine. Moo and Sam instantly fell in love (we still joke Kennedy is the 3rd wheel in the relationship). We spent the entire day laughing, people-watching, and talking about our love for 90's and early 2000's music videos. That's pretty much when we thought, "This could be something."

We've all been affected by the pandemic in different ways and we feel grateful to have found each other in such uncertain times. We say our relationship was put into a pressure cooker - we spent all of our time together while San Francisco was closed for a majority of the last year. We were cubicle mates working from home full-time, chefs that made three meals a day, gym buddies that worked out over lunch in the living room, adventurers that road tripped the west coast, outdoorsmen that spent many sunny days at the park, and we fell in love.

In late fall of 2020, we jokingly spoke about the idea of getting married, but here we were in the middle of a pandemic and had known each other only a few months - it sounded a bit crazy! Well, flash forward to April 2021 and we discussed it more seriously. We loved each other and it felt like the right thing for us - we were ready. Sam officially proposed over Labor Day weekend after we enjoyed dinner at our first-date favorite spot and we couldn't be happier knowing we'd get to tie the knot in a little over a month.

We are hosting an intimate, civil ceremony at the beautiful San Francisco City Hall, followed by a small lunch reception with friends at a modern, English pub. We're sad all our loved ones can't join us for our special day due to current circumstances, but we're so happy to begin our lives and celebrate our love for each other.
