The Broad Art Museum provides one of a kind thought provoking art that generates a new dialogue on historical issues. Their art and artists amplify perspectives and stories by underrepresented and oppressed communities. The museum features local, national, and international artists. Free admission Friday through Sunday from 12–6pm.

Downtown East Lansing is currently blocked off for events, restaurants, and social activities. There is parking nearby where you can easily walk the short strip on Albert Rd. There are great restaurants, an arcade, and bars. In August they have a series of events. Each Friday there is a summer concert series, each Sunday there is the EL farmers market. Thursday Aug 12th there is a Moonlight Film Festival and Saturday Aug 14th there is the ConTempus Quartet Concert.
