Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Your response is our final touch! Please respond by May 1, 2025. After this date, we cannot guarantee seating or meal preferences.

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We kindly ask that our wedding ceremony and reception be limited to named guests only. Your wedding invitation will have noted the named guests that we would love to share our day with. Due to venue capacity and vendor confirmations, we are unable to accommodate additional guests.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We respectfully request that our wedding be an adult-only occasion. We hope you can still join us for the celebration.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

At the church, feel free to park in the church parking lot. At the reception, there will be an area marked with signage for private event parking. Parking is free and cars can be left overnight for pickup in the morning.

What kind of transportation is available to and from your wedding venue?

Answer

If you would like to drive, feel free to leave your car overnight at Granary Road and pick up in the morning. Ubers and taxis will also be available for order to get you home safely.

Are the ceremony and reception locations wheelchair accessible?

Answer

Mostly, yes. The ceremony at St. Bonaventure Church is accessible. The reception at Granary Road is mostly accessible. The outdoor area surrounding the venue consists of graveled pathways which may be tricky to navigate for those with limited mobility and/or mobility-assisting devices.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal. For men, this means wearing nice pants, a collared shirt, and a tie if you choose. For women, we encourage a cocktail dress or a dress skirt and top. We kindly request that you avoid wearing shorts or sneakers. Our venue is mostly outdoors and has gravel pathways, so we encourage flat-footed shoes or chunky heels for your best comfort. The pathways are tricky to walk on with stiletto-style heels.

Is the wedding indoor or outdoor?

Answer

The ceremony will be indoors in the church parish. The reception is a mix of indoors and outdoors. The Stable Garden is a barn with roof coverage, however, it is not an insulated or air-conditioned venue so the temperature outside will feel similar inside. Surrounding the barn are grassy areas and pathways that you can enjoy throughout the night.

What will the weather be like?

Answer

We hope that the weather is sunny and warm on our wedding day! However, for those of us living in Alberta, we know that the weather can change quickly and drastically. Please be prepared for potential rain, thunderstorms, smoke, and heat. Our venue is mostly outdoors so also be mindful of chillier summer nights.

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

Answer

Please join us in an unplugged ceremony. We've hired a professional photographer to capture this special moment, so sit back, relax, and enjoy the ceremony with us! We promise to share the photos and video footage as soon as we receive them! During the reception, use the QR code available at your table to take and upload your own photos from throughout the night!

Will food be served?

Answer

There will be light refreshments during cocktail hour, such as popcorn and charcuterie. The bar will be open during cocktail hour for beverage purchases. Dinner will be served at the reception! The food will be prime rib with a spread of vegetables and salads. Vegan/vegetarian options are available upon request through your RSVP.

I have a food allergy/dietary restriction, can I make a special request?

We are happy to provide and accommodate to vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, or special dietary options. Please note if you require this on your RSVP so we can let our caterer know!

What is the bar situation like?

Answer

Our bar will be a toonie bar! Please ensure you have toonies ready to roll prior to arriving at the venue as there is no ATM on site.

I am coming from out of town. Where should I stay?

Answer

We recommend guests from out of town look into staying at accommodations in the SW and SE of Calgary for the closest distance to our ceremony and reception venues. Some hotel recommendations include: Delta Hotels by Marriott Calgary South (9 mins to ceremony, 20 mins to reception); Wingate by Wyndham Calgary South (8 mins to ceremony, 17 mins to reception); and Super 8 by Wyndham Calgary Shawnessy (8 mins to ceremony, 16 mins to reception). What should/could I do between the ceremony and the reception?

Answer

One option may be visiting the Active Learning Park and Farmer's Market at Granary Road! Part of our reception package includes free access for all guests into the Active Learning Park during their business hours (psst... this includes before and after our ceremony - they are open 9am-5pm). Feel free to explore their exhibits including the Frog Pond Fun Pad, Farm Friends, Arachnid Web, Mushroom Meander, Ant Farm Adventure, Bee Hive Honeycomb, Orchard Treehouse, Wetlands Discovery, Bat Cave Hangout, Chicken Coop, and the Croplands.
