The Beginning: We tried really hard to come up with a better story, but here's the truth: we met on Facebook Dating on June 1st, 2021. After a month of getting to know each other through texts and long phone conversations, we went on our first date on June 30th. That date lasted for hours, and we both walked away with a feeling that this could be different. We continued going out and getting to know each other as friends for seven months. During that time, we took a lot of walks, played basketball (ask Micah about that game of 21 he lost), and ate some really great food. After months of asking her friends to help her figure out what was going on with this guy, Kendra went straight to the source. In March 2022, Micah accepted a position in Houston, TX. Kendra knew she couldn't let him move away without giving things a try. We decided to give things a try, even though Micah was moving in just three weeks. When Micah moved, we figured we would do the long distance thing for a year or so and then reassess the situation. Wrong! We lasted about a month before realizing this was something really special, and we wanted to see each other more than once a month. We spent the summer of 2022 hanging out in Houston, Austin, and Louisville, and allowed our love to bloom. The Engagement: In August 2022, Micah came to Louisville to visit for a weekend. We got dressed up and went to a very nice dinner at Le Moo. Kendra suspected a proposal might come—but it didn’t. We met up with some close friends afterwards to do an escape room, and Kendra’s guard was totally down. In fact, she left the room for a bathroom break, nearly thwarting Micah’s plan 🥴 When she returned, the group was working on the final clue. They handed her a key to open a door in the wall, and behind the door was a small box. She opened the box and there was a ring! When she turned around, Micah was down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Obviously, the answer was yes! We broke out of the room and went off to celebrate with our friends ❤️
