Kate and Kendra met in choir. Kate sat behind Kendra. Kendra would "struggle" (hint: she was faking) with her hair in order to get Kate to pay attention to her. One day, Kate tugged on a strand of Kendra's hair and said "let me do it". Kate and Kendra bonded over camping, hiking, choral music, and neurodivergence. Kate was drawn to Kendra's "adorable social awkwardness", her sense of humor, her style, and her emotional intelligence. Kendra was drawn to Kate's beautiful eyes and hair, her love of bees, her weirdness, and her raw honesty. We admitted feelings for each other about a month later. Kendra was scared of relationships in general and so the start was a very slow burn... But Kate was persistent. Their first date was hammocking down by the Mississippi and the rest is history.

Just a note- "Kendra" is changing her name! This is an exciting update for her. For that reason, you might see Kendra AND El. El is her preferred name :)
