Market Street shuts out cars on the weekends to make room for the food trucks and small businesses that make up a bustling downtown street market. There's always different highlighted events happening, so check out the Downtown Mount Airy Facebook page to see whats going on while you're in town!
Pages Books & Coffee
Two things we love are books and coffee- if you've been to our place, you've seen the home library that miiiiight be getting too big for a NYC apartment & you'll know we always have an extensive rotation of coffee flavors on deck. What could be even better than books or coffee? Putting both of them together in one place!
Mount Airy Museum of Regional History
Whenever we go on a trip together, we never miss the opportunity to learn more about where we are by going to a museum. We'll be checking out the Mount Airy Museum of Regional History when we're in town, for sure!
Hanging Rock State Park
We love a hike with beautiful views! Hanging Rock State park has 31 different trails, all with different levels of difficulty, so there's something for everyone here. The 3.6 mile round trip Hanging Rock trail is where the park gets its name!
Miss Angels Heavenly Pies
Although this bakery is known for its pies, there are tons of other sweet treats to try. There are even some Gluten Free and Sugar Free options, for guests with dietary restrictions!
Andy Griffith Museum
When we decided on this venue, we had NO idea what was around it. It was only after we put a deposit down that we googled “things to do in Mount Airy” and were met with mostly results about Andy Griffith. We found out this is his hometown, so there is a TON of “The Andy Griffith Show” related activity here. This is just one selection!
