A must do in the city on a nice day! There are multiple companies that offer spectacular architecture boat tours on the river. We recommend buying tickets in advance and showing up early to get in line to ensure you can get a good spot on the top deck of the boat.
North Avenue Beach offers one of the best skyline views in Chicago and is a favorite spot for walking, biking, or relaxing along the lakefront. On a nice day, the beach is full of energy with beach volleyball, lakefront trails, outdoor cafes, or people relaxing on the beach.
On Saturdays from 7am-1pm, the Lincoln Park Farmer's Market is open. It is one of our favorite ways to spend a weekend morning! The market features local produce, fresh flowers, baked goods, coffee, and vendors from across Chicago. It's the perfect spot to grab a coffee, stroll through the neighborhood, and enjoy a classic Chicago summer morning. Our favorite vendor is the freshly squeezed blueberry juice stand! Afterwards, we love to stroll down Clark St, Lincoln Ave, or Armitage to check out local restaurants, architecture, and boutiques.
The Art Institute of Chicago is one of the most iconic museums in the city and home to an incredible collection of art spanning centuries and cultures. From famous Impressionist paintings to modern works and beautiful museum gardens, it's a perfect way to spend an afternoon in Chicago. We did part of our engagement pictures here!
The Riverwalk is a great afternoon activity in the city! Stretching along the Chicago River through downtown, the Riverwalk is lined with restaurants, bars, cafes, boat tours, and incredible views of Chicago architecture. Whether you're grabbing a drink at Tiny Tap, taking a walk along the river, or simply enjoying the skyline views (or people watching), it's the perfect way to experience the city.
