In the summer of 2016, Kendall decided to join a Men’s summer soccer league because she missed the sport. She wanted to play and assured herself there would be no nonsense meeting boys! Meanwhile, Scott having missed the previous summer season from a knee injury was also looking for a team. At the first game, they both noticed each other but for some reason Kendall rushed away after each game. She had rowing practice every morning. The first words Kendall remembers from Scott were “I think your ankle is bleeding”. They hardly talked but played well together on the field. Luckily, as the season was ending Scott was brave enough to ask Kendall to join a few guys on the team for a drink. Despite having already put her pajamas on, Kendall decided to give it a shot once she knew who the anonymous texter was. They hit it off, talked for hours and he even let her share his nachos! Kendall and Scott went on a few more dates in the following weeks, but at the end of July Kendall left for Rio. They Skyped daily and somewhere along the way decided for date #5 Scott should fly to Wisconsin and spend 4 days with Kendall and her family. By the end of the visit Kendall became Scott’s girlfriend and Scott became a life long Badger fan! The following summer, Kendall was hired to be an assistant rowing coach at Duke and without a pause Scott decided he would move along with her. The day they arrived in North Carolina Scott was hired at Big Spoon Roasters, a local gourmet nut butter company. Just over a year later, Scott and Kendall happily live in downtown Durham, now with their puppy Mia, and continue to play soccer together on a CO-Ed team. In November 2018, on a walk to dinner with Rob and Cierra Moseley, Scott stopped outside the place they thought someday they might get married to ask the question. Scott and Kendall are in fact getting married at that exact spot and would love their friends and family to join them in visiting the place that together they now call HOME!
