MUST KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
1. If you're coming from the United States, make sure your passport is good for AT LEAST 6 months from the date you travel. If it is not, YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO FLY. If you're traveling from a country other than the United States, make sure to check their travel requirements into England. 2. Contact your bank to let them know you’re going overseas so your cards don’t get declined. 3. Be sure to exchange any cash before you leave the airport. Most places take credit cards or Apple pay. 4. Their outlets are different than ours. Buy a travel adapter. 5. You can rent a car or use public transportation. Partner up with others to split a car. Public transit offers discounts for tickets if you have a certain profession or if you buy them in advance and online. 6. Travel light. Don’t forget to weigh/measure your bags to avoid extra fees. 7. Check discount apps (skyscanner, Expedia, booking.com, etc) and sites for the best rates on hotels, cars and flights. 8. WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook Messenger will be the easiest to call/text back home and avoid international call fees, or contact your cell phone provider to set up international calling. 9. Look into travel insurance (if your airline doesn’t cover it).
