Wedding Party

Meredith Berents

Maid of Honor

My triplet sissy and BFF since the womb. The yin to my yang. The olive to my martini. We could not be more different, but I would not be who I am without her. Always makes sure that I don’t take life (or myself) too seriously. The not-so-secret life of the party with a genuine heart of gold. A natural go-getter and straight shooter who makes everything more fun just by being present – and by her impeccable movie impersonations. Teaches me to laugh at myself. When that doesn’t work, teaches me to stand up for myself. Stands by my side no matter what.

Danny Fuchs

Best Man

The chillest guy I ever met was waiting in the reception area on my first day at SKLZ. Danny started in the same role on the same day and, looking back, yes I am surprised that he arrived before me that day. In all the years we’ve golfed together, I've never seen him at the driving range. He's more of an "I'll meet you on the 2nd hole" kind of guy. On that first day, we immediately bonded over our mutual love for sports and being engiNerds. Within a few months, we became roommates and lived together for over 6 years. I never tired of his company. Fuchs, as he is affectionately called, loves marble racing, curling, and mispronouncing his home state of Florida. He is a very humble, funny, intelligent, passionate, and sexy son-of-a-bitch. Whoever locks him down one day will be a very lucky lady.

Scottie O'Neill

Bridesmaid

Wooed me in high school through a church group Secret Santa and then became my ride or die BFF. Ryan affectionately calls her “The Kendall Whisperer” because: (1) she is wise beyond her years (2) she can single-handedly dismantle my limiting beliefs and (3) she just gets me. The most intentional human that I know. Secretly the smartest person in the room. Gives everything her all, but doesn’t talk about it. Incredibly multi-faceted. Knows how to go deep but still have fun. Makes friends with strangers at bars. Lights up the dance floor. As a High School Math Teacher, she is still competing with Ryan on Logic Puzzles. (My money is on Scottie…) Shows up for everything that life has to offer – and always shows up for me.

Grant Wendt

Groomsman

Grandpa Grant is two years my senior, but he might as well be 100. We met at Cal Poly when we were both late additions to our college friend group; most of the other guys had lived together in the dorms during Freshman year. Eventually, I realized he wasn’t a total weirdo and started to grow fond of him. Like Peter Pan, we had similar college experiences in that we enjoyed ourselves a bit too much and took longer than most to grow up. We have stayed close ever since as we have both remained Southern California natives, and Kendall and I try to see his beautiful family whenever we can. She has a thing for his son Declan… who helped convince her that children of our own will be a part of our future.

Mary McKeegan

Bridesmaid

My cousin and pseudo-older sister who became my (bad?) influence during our summers in Corolla. Shares my love for books, Britain, and the beach. Knows me inside-and-out, not just because of our similarities, but because of her enduring loyalty and compassion. One of the best-smelling people I’ve ever met. (Sounds weird, but it’s true.) My favorite person to be trapped with - from cars, to inner tubes, to bunk beds. Has a natural talent for banter. Taught me how to flirt. Then taught me how to love.

Jimmy Berents

Groomsman

That last name might be familiar to you…I met Jimmy, the wisest and oldest of the triplets, in 2020 when I first met the whole Berents family in Richmond, VA. Jimmy was then, and has remained, very warm and receptive of me, and welcomed me into the family. I know he loved playing practical jokes on Kendall while they were growing up, but, thankfully, he hasn't played any on me. (Don't get any ideas, Jimmy...) Like most of the guys on this list, Jimmy is a smart, hard working, genuinely good guy, who loves sports and whiskey. I look forward to getting to know him better over the years as my new brother-in-law.

Nadia Asmal

Bridesmaid

We became accidental friends because we both hated college, deactivated from the same sorority, decided to study abroad, and ended up living together upon our return. Then we became lifelong best friends on a camping trip when our kayak tipped, because when the going gets tough, Nadia does not quit. Finds joy even when it’s hard. Always has my back (and a good meal) even when she lives on another continent. Currently changing lives for refugees and breaking hearts all over the world. Changed my life, too - not just because she changed my perspective on the world, but because she always knows how to make me feel special. She’s oh, so special, too.

Richard Raymond Huth III

Groomsman

Rick moved to California in 2014, becoming the third and final member of the engineering trio that held SKLZ together (ehh?) for many years. Rick is AAA - athletic (bulging biceps), attractive (abs for days), and available (ring finger). Just check out his high school year book -the superlative photoshoot was a bunch of girls lining up to take their picture with Rick. On a deeper level, Rick genuinely cares about his friends and takes care of all of us. Together we have shared many snowboarding and backpacking trips, competed at wizard sticks, flip cup, rage cage, volleyball, ultimate ball, flag football - you name it, he's done it. The man loves an adventure. I dare you to challenge him to arm wrestling at the wedding.

Caroline Moses

Bridesmaid

My mentor and teaching sidekick from Dallas. The wittiest human I have ever met. Has two amazing kiddos and a husband that I affectionately refer to as family. When she says she has your back, she is not kidding. When she says she is passionate about football and football snacks, she is also not kidding. Introduced me to crawfish boils, chicken-fried steak, and Valentine’s Day E-Cards. Took me under her wing during some of the most difficult moments in my life, and taught me not only how to persevere, but how to live with an open heart.

Philip Allan

Groomsman

Phil is my longest running friend aside from my brother. We go way back to Kindergarten and have stayed friends for 30 years. Pretty quickly, the Westphals and the Allans became close family friends. Right away, Phil and I shared a love for sports and the outdoors, and we played everything under the sun together. I’ve always been impressed by Phil’s fearlessness, gregariousness, integrity, and work ethic. Phil is the poster child of work hard, play hard. He has travelled the world and speaks a little of a lot of languages.

Bri Musco

Bridesmaid

First my physical therapist, then my personal trainer, then my soul sister because we share a (shockingly) similar appreciation for hard-core exercise and meaningful conversations. I knew I wanted to be lifelong friends with Bri when she impressed me at Rick’s (very memorable) Scottsdale birthday party. Like the Energizer Bunny, she had the discipline to crush an early-morning kettlebell workout in the Arizona desert and the spirit to slay the dance floor all evening. Currently showing me the way into marriage and motherhood with encouragement and perspective. A joyous badass with plenty of heart.

Chris Musco

Groomsman

I have known Chris for about 5 years, as we met through his wife Bri, who I saw frequently for many of my injuries over the years. Bri and Chris are always so much fun (Chris is always telling jokes, having a good time, or cooking something mouthwatering), but we remained in the acquaintance zone for far too long. I finally broke through into the friend zone and it is oh-so-sweet. In the last couple years, Bri and Chris have become our best couple friends and have been very supportive and helpful during Kendall and my journey together. If you want to have a long conversation, ask him about skiing. If not, don't say I didn't warn you.

Margaret Clark

Bridesmaid

My oldest friend since Middle School because we (somehow) knew, even then, that we were both passionate about the arts, travel, and baking brownies. Her passion for watching High School Musical over (80? 100?) times led her to Hollywood to become a Studio Exec. As I wrote in my journal in 10th grade, “Margaret is the only person I know who is always herself.” Effortlessly bold and wise, Marge always keeps me grounded. And still makes me laugh harder than Villanelle (IYKYK). I trust her with my life. And with all of my childhood secrets.

Mike Gaza

Groomsman

Mike and I courted the Berents sisters on a similar timeframe. Though COVID prevented us from meeting each other for a while, Kendall and I both got to know Mike as a silly, fun loving guy who would do anything for her sister. He is a loyal, no BS, authentic guy - except when is BSing you, which is about half of the time. Mike recently proposed to Meredith in the OBX, and I look forward to having Mike as a future brother-in-law. He's someone I'd want to be friends with even if we weren't marrying into the same family. We’ve had a lot of fun together hanging with our future Berents family and nieces and nephews. Mike will be a great dad and uncle to our future kids - but then again, his alter ego, Uncle Bozo, might scar them for life.

Brandon O'Neill

Officiant

We knew we wanted to make Brandon our officiant because (1) his marriage to Kendall's best friend, Scottie, is a marriage we admire (2) he means a lot to both of us and (3) he's comfortable with a microphone. As a musician, Brandon writes music and lyrics that boldly explore both the hope and pain of what it means to be human. (Check out his band, Wine & Warpaint. Then prepare to cry at the wedding.) As a friend, Brandon was the guiding force that insisted Kendall didn't settle for mediocre men. Thus, it meant a lot when he finally met Ryan and gave his stamp of approval. (Big sigh of relief...) If we had to describe Brandon in three words: original, wholehearted, and captivating.

Josh Westphal

Groomsman

My big bro - the bigger, shorter, and more serious version of me. Josh has had my back since Day 1. No one outside of the family was allowed to mess with me - that was his job. Josh is very loyal, hard working, and competitive - I wasn’t allowed to win at anything! As my older brother, he always pushed me to be better, even when I wasn’t in the mood. He USED to be a pretty good dancer, but he decided to hang up the dancing shoes once he saw me let it loose. Either he was embarrassed to be associated with me or intimidated by my skills. You be the judge.
