Thanks to the dating app Hinge, Ken stumbled across Rachael’s profile where he saw a picture of her wearing goggles. This interaction evolved into Ken asking Rachael for her mom’s number for fashion tips (she thinks goggles are a fashion statement). After talking some more, they decided to meet in-person. For their first date, they went downtown and stopped by the Arcade Bar where Rachael destroyed Ken in Mariokart. Ken annihilated Rachael in darts but Rachael wasn’t bothered by this as it is not as important as Mariokart. This doesn’t bother Ken, though, as he has never lost to Rachael since that day. On their second date, when Rachael wasn’t sure what to talk about, they walked past scaffolding and a new building being constructed. Rachael told Ken her favorite thing about buildings is stairs as she looked at the stairwell being built. It was at this point Ken realized Rachael was a dork, and he believed he would have no issue reeling her in. They had their first kiss right after Rachael tried to pronounce her license plate (WLX). A few months later, just before Ken took a trip out of state with friends, Ken took Rachael to the Sunken Gardens and asked Rachael what she wants Ken to call her when he talks to his friends about her. Rachael replied, “Probably Rachael.” From then on, Ken called her Rachael, and also sometimes, his “girlfriend.” A few years later, Ken proposed to Rachael using a giant ring pop as a distraction. Rachael was not expecting a proposal. Rachael was wearing sweatpants and her glasses, despite Ken asking her if she wanted to wear something else. Rachael became slightly defensive as she could wear whatever she wanted. Rachael regretted that. So, Ken asked Rachael if it would be easier to call her his “wife” instead of “Rachael.” Rachael agreed. Rachael and Ken then got engaged right before Ken left for a week-long trip. Now, they are getting married!
