Some love stories make total sense. This one, not so much and that's exactly what makes it perfect & uniquely theirs. In May of 2025, Laura was in Hermosa Beach visiting her best friend Jade. Jade, being the best friend she is, encouraged Laura to switch her Hinge location while she was in town. She did, and almost immediately matched with a guy named Ken. He asked her to dinner the very next day. She said no to dinner. Jade's husband was making homemade carbonara that night and that was a hard no to miss. She offered drinks instead, and they agreed to meet at Vista on the Hermosa pier. What was supposed to be a quick, casual meetup turned into three hours of conversation that felt anything but casual. By the end of the night, Ken had somehow talked his way into being Laura's plus one to the carbonara dinner. The rest of the weekend just kept going. A beach day. A local festival. Church. An afternoon at Palisades Park in Santa Monica. Two people who weren't sure how the date would go, suddenly not wanting the weekend to end. Laura's friends back in Dallas told her to stay. So she extended her trip (because she had to see how the plot would unfold), and by the time she actually had to leave, Ken made sure she wasn't leaving without a title. He wasn't letting her get on that plane without making her his girlfriend first. Neither of them saw this coming. But looking back, it's hard not to see how perfectly it was all put together. God had a plan here long before either of them did, and we are so glad He did. Thanks to Hinge, a prayer, and homemade carbonara - we have a wedding!
