Wedding Party

Meet our family and friends who are walking down the aisle with us!

Kelly

Matron of Honor

Laura’s almost birthday twin and pseudo cousin. Growing up, Kelly would come up with almost as many wild ideas as Laura but never was blamed for them. Luckily, we have both grown up and the most “wild” our ideas get are; how to wear our curly hair, learning about awesome Catholic Saints, and following the Wild Goose, or Holy Spirit.

Chole

Maid of Honor

What started as a workplace manger/employee relationship turned into a lifelong friendship built on late night binge-watching sessions, many glasses of wine, and frequent trips to Chili’s. Together over the last several years Chole and Laura have helped each other through the tough times and celebrated the highs of life. I will forever be grateful for our paths crossing and how it changed my life for the better. I’m also happy to have been present when Laura and Ken first met over a year ago. I can tell you that their connection was instantaneous and their love for God and each other radiates whenever you’re around them. I’m honored to be standing by her in October when she says yes to forever.

Anne Marie

Bridesmaid

Laura's wise and responsible, slightly older cousin. The videographer to all of Laura's crazy ideas. "Weekend sisters".

Hayley

Bridesmaid

Laura’s outgoing and spontaneous bestie from Orlando, Florida. We met when we were cast in the same Chicago Folks Operetta. Hayley was the teacher’s pet with a love for theatre that eventually grew on Laura and never then left... ;) We then both performed for a princess party company in Illinois, but let’s face it, we did not need wigs and gowns to tell us we were royalty

Roz

Bridesmaid

Laura’s college boyfriend. Ok. Just friend, though she will always be my lady. We were musical theatre classmates at Wesleyan and once we discovered we were the same brand of wonderfully odd we pretty much were always together. After college we have never lived in the same town, but it still seems like we never left each other’s side. And if that’s not true dedication and beautiful friendship- I don’t know what is. I also don’t think there is anyone I have ever been this excited to marry off and send into an amazing future filled with joy and love. And I intend to pass the torch gracefully to Ken. Keep your lady fed, warm, hydrated etc. it’s been an honor.

Rachel

Bridesmaid

Laura’s Leader of the Rebels- both in work and play. A fellow actress, they became friends right away, exploring all of Chicago’s theatres, auditions, and local hot spots together- never failing to try something outrageous (on stage or off). Constant supports and collaborators for each other's artistic work, personal life, and new make-up techniques, they encourage one another to be bold. Bold enough to leave a job, dance with a tiny piano, or hold out for real love. Proud of you, my friend.

Allison

Sister of Honor

James

Groomsman

James met Ken through the Philosophy Forum at St. Al’s, in an attempt to start some controversy. He is a landscaper who in his spare time contemplates what is true, good, and beautiful in order to come closer to God. He also likes powerlifting, poetry, armchair psychology, 20th century avant-garde music, and hitting other people as hard as he can in a rule governed environment. One day, he hopes that God will come to him like Enoch and steal him away on one of his walks through the city in the early morning moonlight.

Joaquin

Groomsman

I met Ken at my very first day of work in the men’s locker room, just after Ken had gotten in a morning session of gainz at the office gym. Who knew that our work relationship would soon develop massive friendship gainz as well? The friendship was first invigorated by the preworkout of shared interests and backgrounds (go Irish 🍀), then strengthened by multiple supersets of office lunches and after work hangouts, and then cemented even further by the oh-so-rejuvenating protein shakes of St. Alphonsus masses. Cheers to Laura and Ken, the strongest couple around!

Billy

Groomsman

A fellow Notre Dame Keough Hall brother of Ken’s. He will sometimes confuse people because he’s from London, England, but lost his British accent after spending some early years of his life in New England… or rather The Colonies as the Brits like to call them. Billy and Ken found a deep friendship at Notre Dame through many dining hall dinners, late-night conversations, and boardgame-filled afternoons in Keough Hall. He has been an aerospace engineer in Houston, and now in Los Angeles. He’s excited to return to the holy ground of God Quad to celebrate Ken and Laura’s marriage in true Notre Dame style!

Joe

Groomsman

Hey! Joe is one of Ken’s roommates from college and fellow econ students. He always enjoys catching up with Ken and discussing different topics from the humorous to the philosophical. He has spent these past few years working in Chicago, but he’s going back to grad school this Fall to try and understand what the computer means when it gives an upside down smile and a blue screen. He has has a *slight* obsession with coffee, although he’s improving on that a little bit, and he’s always excited for a road trip. Run-on sentences and generally talking are also favorite pastimes. Joe is super stoked for the wedding and to meet you all to celebrate a great couple.

Chris

Groomsman

Ken and Chris first met through Men’s Group, but our relationship really blossomed in the squat racks of the O’Fallon, MO, Club Fitness. While we were friends through Church, Ken was tipped off that I also liked to lift. This quickly progressed from agreeing to work out together once to regularly lifting 3-4x a week. I quickly learned how committed and intentional Ken is. He didn’t miss workouts, he always pushed himself and me to our limits, and, most of all, he loved talking to complete strangers in the gym, especially if they were hogging a weight or area he wanted. Between workouts and church events, we became part of each other’s lives and Ken pushed me to be a better man. I look forward to being a part of the wedding party and I call dibs on the leg press on the wedding registry.

Andrew

Best Man

Kenny and I go way back to 2nd grade where we met at St. Patrick's school. Since then we've shared too many great moments to count. We trick or treated together, drank our first beer together, and have always spent time together when he's in town. Since I was 18, I've enjoyed working as a carpenter and I now run my own business. In my free time I like to go out to bars and hang out with my friends over some drinks. You asked for fun facts? I'm double jointed. I can run fast. Not super good at dancing sober. I don't like water. Also can't park worth a shit. Inventor of the Quesorolies (TM).

Evan

Groomsman

Ken met Evan at the St Alphonsus young adult ministries kickoff event in 2019. A close friendship quickly formed around a love of reading, socializing and working out. Since meeting they’ve done a wide range of activities together - from St. Alphonsus Philosophy Forum and St. Men’s Group to runs and group workouts to just kicking back and hanging out on the roof of Ken’s apartment.

Mike

Groomsman

Pete

Groomsman

Ken got to know Pete at the Thursday night Men’s Group at St Alphonsus. Eventually the Thursday nights of great conversations led to Tuesday nights of Philosophy discussions, backyard workouts, and lounging on the lakefront. Their friendship developed over a shared interest in asking big questions and then pretending to know the answers. Pete has been in Chicago for 8 years working in supply chain management. He enjoys being in the center of the party with a beer in one hand and an espresso in the other.
