Cocktail attire. For shoes: the dance floor is slightly uneven and the ground is semi-cobblestone-y. Ladies (and gentlemen?) we recommend leaving the stilettos at home and opting for a chunky heel or flat.
Try “Blo” on West 5th! I always get blow outs there and they do a great job. Have never gotten make up done there but they definitely offer that service.
Great question. If you have the stamina to wake up on Saturday morning at 5 AM to get in line and wait for BBQ until 11:30 then BY ALL MEANS please do it. Yes, it *is* worth it and there is a reason why it's so famous. If this sounds like you, definitely make sure to bring chairs, coolers, sunscreen and some food to eat while you're in line. It's BYOB. Think of it like a tailgating experience....but for BBQ. However if you don't have have that kind of gusto, and if you have a large party ordering *at least* 5 lbs of meat then you can get it to-go! You don't get the full "Franklin's Experience" but you'll get to try the food. **I'd put your order in at least 2 weeks in advance if you choose this option**
Great question. And a difficult one to answer. Weather could be hot, mild or cold ---we've had all three temperatures in Austin around this date. But, if we had to guess it *should* be warm during the day and cool-ish at night.
As soon as you can! Fall is considered "peak season" in Austin. See more in the "Travel" section.
Duh.
Also, duh. Please see above FAQ if you're nervous about dancing.
