Are kids welcome?

Answer

We both have big families with young kiddos and want them there to celebrate with us! To our friends, we also love your kids, but don't have unlimited space. If your kids aren't listed on the invitation and you really want them along (instead of a parent's night out), talk to us and we'll see if we can accommodate.

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

We are planning to have a taco bar that can accommodate a variety of dietary needs (gluten free, vegetarian, and dairy free). If you have an allergy we should notify our caterer about, please let us know.

Is the ceremony outside?

Answer

Yes! The wedding ceremony will be outside in a grove of pine trees. The reception and cocktail hour will be in a covered barn and attached pavilion. There is a short walk on grass from the parking lot to the ceremony site and from the ceremony site to the reception space. There are also several other nature trails you are welcome to explore on the property- be sure to check out the view of the Mississippi River from the prairie bluff!

What should I wear?

Answer

The joke is that Kelsie's Dad (Doug) is going to show up wearing shorts with holes in them to the ceremony. We'd prefer semi-formal attire, or something between holey shorts and a white tux (like Doug wore for his wedding). Given the ceremony is outside on natural surface, please wear shoes you feel comfortable in for this setting. You may also want a jacket or sweater as the evenings can cool-off quickly in the fall. If in doubt, check the weather and bring layers!

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

We will be spending the week before the wedding at the YMCA camp in Pepin, Wisconsin. If you are in the area early and want to join us, please reach out! During the day we plan to bike and train. In the evenings, we plan to grill-out, enjoy a bonfire or two, and play games.
