A firefighter and a teacher fell in love... Need we say more? We actually met on a dating website - what a cliche! I actually reached out to Aubrey first thinking he would never respond back. To my surprise, he responded and we clicked. On our first date, I invited him to my house for a Halloween hang-out to pass out candy and watch horror movies. I should have been murdered but thankfully, he was my soulmate and not a murderer! The rest is history!

True to form, it was me who proposed to him. Aubrey had a terrible day so I wanted to make it better. We were at home and I turned to him with a ring and said "Why don't you just marry me?" He thought I was joking and when I finally convinced him I was serious, he was surprised and said "YES!" A year later, Aubrey surprised me on my birthday. We took a hike up Sawnee Mountain with some friends. Once we had climbed (i.e. I had decided to run up half the mountain) to the top, Aubrey got down on one knee and proposed back to me. What an amazing birthday surprise!
