What is the Corona Virus protocol?

Answer

At this time, the Kansas City Mayor has lifted all mandates. Our space can accommodate 400 people seated and we expect to be at 50% capacity with plenty of room to spread out. All servers will be wearing masks and gloves. You are welcome to wear a mask, however, it is not required.

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal/cocktail attire. Ladies should wear cocktail dresses, LBDs, or a dressy jumpsuit. The gentlemen should wear a suit and tie or a sports coat. No jeans please.

What will the weather be like this time of year?

Answer

Kansas City June temperatures are around high 70s-mid 80s during the day with average lows of mid 60s-low 70s at night. All events will be held inside with an outdoor terrace option.

Where are the ceremony and the reception taking place?

Answer

Where should guests park? Is parking free?

Answer

If you need parking you can e-mail Carrweddingkc@gmail.com and we will reserve a parking spot for you in the H&R Block Parking Garage at no cost. Or valet parking is available at a public rate. **H&R BLOCK: Address: 1344 Walnut St, Kansas City, MO 64105 Entrances: there are two; one on Walnut and one on Main, both between 13th and 14th Streets. Guest Instructions: As guests pull into the garage they will be given a ticket. They will need to bring that ticket into The Gallery to be validated.

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Both will be held indoors with the option to mingle on the outdoor terrace.

How do I get to the venue?

Answer

Transportation will not be provided. We suggest Ubering to the venue. It is in the heart of downtown with minimal parking. Uber can drop you off right at the front door :)

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We recommend that you arrive 30 minutes before the start of the ceremony, to make sure everyone is on time and we can get the party started as scheduled!

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, the bridal party will be taking pictures nearby for around an hour. Guests can head across the hall to The Kill Devil Cocktail Lounge where we will be serving passed appetizers and beverages. There will be an open bar with wine, beer, vodka and whiskey.

Are there other wedding events I can attend?

Answer

The wedding party and family will be at the Rehearsal Dinner on Thursday evening. Friday is the big day starting at 6:00. We will likely do some bar hopping on Saturday!

What should I do if I can’t make it?

Answer

You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

Answer

We have a block of rooms reserved at the brand new Loews Hotel downtown. It is a stunning, first class hotel with a special rate of $169 per night for a standard room. Click on the "Travel" link and book by May 2nd to receive the special rate! If you'd like to upgrade your room you can still receive a discount but have to call the agent number on the website. **You should be able to book either a King room or a room with 2 Queens. If you don't see the option you prefer please let us know or try calling to book.**

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding is going to be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.

When is the RSVP deadline? Do I need to mail back my RSVP or can I do it online?

Are the ceremony and reception location wheelchair accessible?

Answer

Yes, there is an elevator right when you walk in the venue. The event space is on the second floor.

Question

Will food and drinks be served at the reception? What kind of food?

Answer

We will have a cocktail hour with finger foods and an open bar. A sit-down plated dinner will be served with an open bar the remainder of the night.

Will there be any vegan/vegetarian/gluten free/special diet options?

Answer

SEASONAL VEGETABLE STRUDEL | grilled vegetables wrapped in phyllo dough, served with zucchini pasta in a white wine sauce & finished with a sun dried tomato vinaigrette. **Please note in your RSVP if you have any dietary restrictions.

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

Yes, we encourage guests to post pictures on to their social media channels! Our only requests are that you put phones away during the ceremony and tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #TakingCarrOfBusiness so we can keep track of all of your pictures!
