Joining our families, and our lives.

We met one summer evening, over drinks with mutual friends, and couldn’t stay away from each other since.

The day after we welcomed William to the world, and we were quickly recovering in the hospital, Tom told me he wanted to put on this new onesie he had specially ordered for our new son. It seemed odd to me, but Tom is odd so i shrugged it off. It was a cute grey (my favorite color) onesie with black lettering that said “Will” and a little bowtie. It was adorable, and I immediately approved of our baby being dressed to the nines. Moments later, he tells me he also got Callista a shirt. “Okay, do you want a cookie?” I’m thinking to myself as I hobble around my bedside in my hospital issued muumuu. Her shirt is pink with some cute arrows and the word “You” printed on it. It was in “inspirational quote” font and I thought nothing of it. Then Tom tells me he got Corbin a shirt. Corbin’s is grey and has the cutest picture of a kitten looking like he’s begging with his paws. It has the word “Please” on it. The kitten is saying “please” and it kind of makes sense to me. I’d had a baby the day before, shirts were not my priority. Then he says Paige also got a shirt. Great. But her shirt had the word “Marry” and a picture of a ring. Things finally clicked for me. Just then, Tom removed his jacket revealing the words “Me. My Daddy. Tom. ‘You’re roommate’ (an inside joke)” There were also check boxes for ‘Yes’ and ‘No’, and suddenly appeared the most gorgeous ring I had ever seen! I said “Yes!” (I think), checked the ‘Yes’ box on his shirt, and that well played gesture has brought us here today!

Dating Tom has never had a dull moment! If there's one thing Tom can't do, it's stay still! He keeps us all on the move and even when we have some rough starts, it's always magical and always worth it. From a road trip to Yellowstone, a chartered plane to the San Juans, summers in Chelan, winters in the cutest of cabins in the Washington wilderness, these are just a few examples of a typical weekend in our household. He's the kind of guy I can hike the most beautiful mountain trails with, race around the lakes on our boat towing all our kids with, and bar crawl through Edmonds ending up in Kingston with. XD He's a ton of fun, and keeps me out of my comfort zone. We've done private sea plane rides, traversed some sketchy alpine roads, and earned our relaxing Leavenworth shopping trips complete with giant biers! We've had our ups and downs, much like the Cascade Mountain Range (seems an appropriate analogy) but at the end of the day, it's Tom, it's me, it's Corbin, it's Paige, it's Callista, and it's Will, and it's all of us adventuring through this life and this planet together. I couldn't ask for anything more. <3
