Are you planning on flying?
Albany International Airport (ALB) is the closest airport to fly into. It is about 25 minutes from Saratoga. There are plenty of Ubers that can take you from the airport to Saratoga. You don't need to rent a car unless you'd like too!

Other ways?
Amtrak is a great option as well! You can take it directly into Saratoga Springs (Saratoga Springs Station) or Albany (Albany-Rensselaer Station).
