Our Adventure Continues..

We met in the most fitting way possible for us—at a pirate-themed Halloween party hosted by Serenity’s brother, Patrick Jardel, in 2024. The night was already well underway when Kelsey arrived a few hours late, dressed head-to-toe in an all-black pirate outfit, armed with quick wit, effortless humor, and the kind of beautiful eyes that are hard to forget. Serenity—a few drinks in and fully committed to the theme—made an unforgettable first impression, immediately catching Kelsey’s attention with striking beauty and a bold, confident demeanor. What started as playful banter quickly turned into a fiercely competitive pirate sword fight, games, and nonstop laughter. Somehow, in the middle of chaos, costumes, clashing swords, and pirate games, we just clicked. It felt less like meeting someone new and more like reconnecting with a best friend we hadn’t met yet. Since that night, our relationship has been built on being unapologetically ourselves. We’re quirky, adventurous homebodies who love anime marathons, Lego dates, and discovering new places to visit, eat, and explore together. Whether we’re cozy at home or chasing our next little adventure, we’ve learned that our favorite place is wherever we are together.

The proposal happened during a trip to the Poconos over Christmas break. Serenity had a feeling a proposal might happen at some point during the trip—but definitely not on the side of a mountain while Hazel and Violet were learning to snowboard. So when Kelsey decided Camelback Mountain was the perfect place to pop the question, Serenity was completely caught off guard. In the middle of the snowboard hill with adrenaline still buzzing, Kelsey got down on one knee and asked the question. It was spontaneous, bold, and just a little unhinged in the best way. Serenity said yes without hesitation. It was unexpected, full of excitement, and perfectly captured who we are—always choosing adventure, even when it comes out of nowhere.
