Well, definitely attraction (I mean, come on - Kelsey is smokin, right?)! Last fall, Ryan's father made an impromptu visit to Denver. Ryan had plans to see some friends one of the evenings Don was in town. Ryan figured he ought to cancel in order to spend the time with his dad. After weighing the options, Don said, "You should go, you might meet the woman you are going to marry!" Later on that evening, Ryan was talking with a friend but suddenly became distracted when a woman he didn't recognize walked in. Minutes turned to hours as they easily talked. Noticing how late it had become, Kelsey said a hasty goodbye. Ryan realized he was about to miss his shot to see her again. Chasing her through the parking lot, he asked for her number. They continued talking the next day, went on a first date the next week, and have not looked back since.
We were on a lovely camping trip with great friends of ours in Ouray, Colorado. The scenery was incredible, the conversation lively, and the s'mores full of chocolate. We had a day to ourselves and decided we should take in the views by going on a hike. When we stopped by the visitor center to inquire about the hike we had chosen, we were warned that it is a treacherous and lengthy hike - so off we set! It was a LONG way up and there were a couple tears (from Kelsey, of course). As the water ran out and the snacks were running low, we still had another 2 hours of the hike to get to the top. When we finally reached the Bridge of Heaven, Ryan popped the question. Kelsey had no idea it was coming, and through more tears and "Are you serious?!" screams, she said yes!
We will be getting married at the beautiful Buffalo Run Golf Course in Commerce City, CO. Our hope for the day is to gather with dear friends and family who want to celebrate our love and marriage and hold us accountable to the covenant we are entering.
