Cash or Card?

Answer

Many establishments in Jamaica accept major credit/debit cards. So you shouldn’t have any issue paying at stores, restaurants, etc.! For taxis, shuttles, and local vendors, we recommend bringing cash. You can pay in US dollars or Jamaican dollars. Typically taxi services will cost slightly less if using Jamaican dollars. You can exchange US cash for Jamaican dollars at the airport. Or, you can use local ATMs to withdraw both US dollars and Jamaican dollars.
