FAQs

Question

What is the dress code for the wedding?

Answer

The dress code is Black Tie Optional, which means we’d love to see our guests dressed to celebrate. For the guys: A tux is great if you have one, but a suit and tie works perfectly too. For the ladies: We kindly encourage wearing floor-length gowns to match the formality of the evening. A long dress is most appropriate, though a midi may be suitable if it’s particularly dressy. While the dress code is black tie optional, that refers to the formality, not the color palette. Please don’t feel limited to black! We love color and would love to see our guests in it! If you need some additional inspiration for outfits I have put together a mood board here: https://pin.it/2l29DPaDK Ladies, please note that the ceremony and reception will both take place on grass, so we recommend a block heel if you are wearing heels.

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our entire celebration will be outdoors, ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, so please dress accordingly and keep the weather in mind. We recommend bringing a light layer in case it gets cool in the evening.

Question

What time should guests arrive?

Answer

We recommend arriving at least 15–30 minutes before the ceremony begins to allow time for parking and seating. The ceremony will begin promptly at 3pm.

Question

Can I use my phone or take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask that all phones and cameras be put away during the ceremony. We’re having an unplugged ceremony so everyone can be fully present with us in the moment. Don’t worry, our professional photographer and videographer will capture everything beautifully, and we’ll be sure to share those photos afterward.

Question

Are children invited to the wedding?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only celebration. We hope you enjoy a night off to relax and celebrate with us!

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We kindly ask that only the guests listed on the invitation attend. We wish we could celebrate with everyone, but we’re keeping things intimate. Thank you for understanding!

Question

Where are you registered?

Answer

Your presence is the best gift of all, but if you'd like to send a gift we are registered directly through Zola. It can be found in the registry tab on the top bar.

Question

Can I send a gift to your home instead of bringing it to the wedding?

Answer

Please send gifts directly to our home if possible! Since we live in Virginia this will save us a ton of time and effort getting them back there. Our mailing address will be listed on our save the date and invite envelopes.

Question

Will there be meal options for guests with dietary restrictions?

Answer

Absolutely. Please let us know your dietary needs when you RSVP, and we’ll make sure you’re accommodated.
