FAQs

The Wedding Website of Kelsey Noble and Joel Moody
Use this map as a guide to booking your place to stay! Stay away from the red areas, and take a look at our list of recommended hotels and airbnbs in the "Travel" section.
Question

What's the weather going to be like?

Answer

Unpredictable. Pack for warm weather AND cold weather, but last year on November 11th it was a perfect 75 degrees and sunny! The storms should be over and the fall should be in full swing :).

Question

Safe Places to stay?

Answer

We have included a list of hotels and airbnbs in good locations. We have also posted a map in the travel section of areas you should stay away from. Please be careful when booking, it may seem weird, but one street can be the difference between safe and not so safe. DO NOT STAY in New Orleans East or the 9th ward, or on St. Claude Street. We feel very safe in this city, but we take simple precautions like staying away from problem areas and not walking alone late at night. Please pay close attention to the map.

Question

General Safety

Answer

Our city gets a bad rap for being "unsafe", but we truly feel very safe here. Follow these tips and enjoy a safe and beautiful, love filled trip! 1. Don't walk around alone late at night! If you do find yourself wondering the city late night, stay on well lit, busier streets. Be kind to strangers, but don't fall for gimmicks. Keep your money to yourself and keep and eye on your wallet. Feel free to go into a bar and get an uber back to your hotel, or ask the bartender what the safest way to get home is. People are generally kind hearted and want to help. 2. NOTHING GOOD HAPPENS ON BOURBON STREET AFTER 2AM! For real, you aren't missing anything and this can be one of the more dangerous places to be late night! Don't buy anything at all off of anyone on the street! This can be very dangerous for so many reasons. 3. The complexity of the homeless in our city. Yes, we have a lot of homeless people in our city, most of them are harmless and just trying to survive, we tend to show compassion for these people. If you don't bother them, they won't bother you. Some, though, are literally unstable, and they can be aggressive or seem aggressive, they tend to want to be left alone, you'll know if you encounter them. There are also the "gutterpunks", gutter punks tend to be the worst. They are usually young people looking for trouble, if you encounter these people it is better to not engage. They might verbally harass you, just ignore them and move on, trust us.

Question

Driving around town

Answer

Okay driving... well parking is the real issue, but driving can be a pain too. We suggest AVOIDING DRIVING in the French Quarter as much as possible. If you must drive, just keep in mind it might take you a while to find a spot in the quarter, you have to pay to park on the street or in a lot, and read all of the street signs very carefully, be sure not to park in a tow away zone. We walk, ride our bikes, scooters, and we use uber and Lyft a lot. There are also taxi cabs, but they can take a very long time to show up. Another fun way to get around is in a Pedi-cab (bike taxi), but they aren't super cheap. We also have blue bikes around town that you can rent. Downtown is actually much smaller than you might think, making walking easy. WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES! Just go ahead and download Lyft or Uber, it is very efficient in this city at all hours of the day.

Question

What to wear around town?

Answer

Anything you want! We have a ton of fun with our fashion in this city. You could wear a full on costume at 1pm on a Tuesday for no reason and nobody is going to look at you weird, we promise. We often over dress, wear wild makeup or dress up for no other reason than because we feel like it. Enjoy the fun and freedom that is our city! Bring that dress you bought but never wore, bring that costume you always wished you could rock again, break out the sparkles and tassels and have fun! This city and our people have a way of bringing your confidence out!!

Question

Will there be kids at the wedding?

Answer

Yes! Please bring the kids! We will have a few silly activities and crafts for them to have fun with.

Question

Visiting New Orleans with kids

Answer

This can be a bit tricky sometimes, but not impossible. There is a ton for families to do in this city, museums, parks, shopping, escape rooms, etc., but there are VERY FEW PUBLIC BATHROOMS, and a lot of our restaurants are 21 and over.

For all the days along the way
