How To Get Around
Traveling around the Truckee/Tahoe area is best done with a rental car. With the closest airport being 45 minutes away, we suggest having a vehicle to get around. Uber & Lyft cannot be counted on all the time, but we have a wonderful local service called "Tart Connect" that is just like Uber/Lyft that is free! Just download the app. Please note: it's best not to completely rely on this service; wait times can be unpredictable. Hours of operation are 6:30am-10:00pm.

Reno-Tahoe International Airport
The Reno-Tahoe International airport is about a 45 minute drive from Truckee and is the closest major airport. The next closest major airport is Sacramento International Airport which is about 1 hour 45 minutes from Truckee.

We highly recommend looking into renting a home or condo in the Tahoe Donner neighborhood in Truckee. There is plenty of inventory and great options whether traveling with a small or large group. Another area worth staying in is Palisades Tahoe, a picturesque ski village about 15 minutes from the heart of Truckee. This resort offers condo rentals and hotel rooms in the summer and fall months.
