We're Getting Married!

The red string of fate brought us together in a most unexpected way! When Kelsea moved to Michigan, Zach offered to help with the move. He spent the entire time teasing Kelsea and asking her if she would sell him her couch because it would look better in his house (it now sits in the living room). From that day forward, we became inseparable spending hours playing kingdom hearts games or talking on the phone. Our connection was instant and undeniable, and our relationship soon took on a life of its own.

Our relationship developed steadily to us, but slowly to others around us. Early on Jackson asked Kelsea if she had a crush on Zach and told her it was okay if she was too scared to tell him -she was. Kelsea often reflects on how she fell in love with Zach while pulling weeds with him under what would become our Juniper bush in our front yard. Zach, on the other hand, can't pinpoint an exact moment saying that it just felt right and natural. This must be true since three months into our relationship, during a Taco Bell outing, Zach made a bold statement: he didn’t need to learn how to spell Kelsea’s last name because she’d be taking his. He won that one!

Our love story is a blend of shared passions and deep affection. Kelsea adores Zach’s nerdy and excitable personality and how he welcomed both her and Jackson into his life with open arms. Zach appreciates Kelsea’s support and patience, and her own nerdy enthusiasm that mirrors his own. No one else had ever been able to sing Muppet Treasure Island songs from memory with him before or play through the entirety of the Kingdom Hearts games, it must be fate.

Zach popped the question at sunrise in Kyoto, Japan, overlooking a serene Buddhist temple. In a playful twist, Kelsea uno-reversed him with a LEGO ring box of his own, making the moment even more memorable. Looking to the future, we’re excited to start renovating Kelsea’s Barbie Dream House—the house Zach already owned—transforming it into our family’s forever home. In our downtime, you’ll find us at Round 1 with Jackson or making bets on the video games we play together.
