Charlotte's airport is the closest to Gastonia, only about 30 minutes from the wedding venue. This is an American/United hub, so you will likely be able to find more flights on those airlines.

Concord regional is a smaller airport near Charlotte. They may have cheaper flights on some smaller airlines than at Charlotte Douglas, however you will have to drive farther.
