With fewer public access points, less public parking, and the best surfing, most locals prefer the quieter south end of the island of Wrightsville Beach. South End surf shop is the typical local retail spot, but you can also rent bikes to explore the island, as well as surf boards and even get surf lessons.
Tower 7 Baja Mexican Grill
Established in 2001, Tower 7 Baja Mexican Grill is a local favorite and was the spot of our first date in Wilmington. You’ll see why it’s special to us!

King Neptune is the place to be for the best breakfast on the island. It’s been around since 1947, making it the oldest restaurant in the county.

The only place on the island to get beer and wine. There’s an ABC (liquor) store just off the island at 6990 Wrightsville Ave. They are open Mon-Sat.. 11am-8pm and closed Sunday.
