It's funny really, how we had both lived in the same small town all our lives, are the same age, went to the same high school and graduated the same year and we had never even met. We weren't ready for each other yet though. It wasn't until we were in our early 30s that we met for the first time. We met by chance, through friends. Tim was fishing off the pier on Jack's Island at Lake Paul Wallace with a friend. I was with a friend also, who had planned to meet up and hang out with Tim's friend at the lake. We all met up, hung out and talked a while. At the end of the evening, we said good night and parted ways. After that, I started seeing Tim around different places. Coincidence? Maybe. We would talk a little and flirt a little. There was definitely a spark. So we made plans to get together one evening and as that night was coming to an end, what was going to be a goodbye hug turned into our first kiss. We have been together ever since. I truely believe that we were meant for each other. God brought us to each other at exactly the right time in our lives. We fit so perfectly together. All that cliché stuff you hear about "finding your soul mate" and "you complete me," it's real. Now, it may have taken us 12 years and 2 kids to get to where we are right now, finally planning our wedding. But we have always known. And I am ever so grateful to God for this blessing of true love that He has given to us.
