For anyone hanging out a little longer on Sunday are welcome to join us at the Ocqueoc Falls. The falls are the largest waterfall in the Lower Peninsula. The Ocqueoc River is unique in that it is one of the few rivers in Michigan that flows south to north and has two falls with an upper and lower falls about 300 feet apart. We will set up a picnic area and have sandwich meats, chips and bottled water. Bring a lawn chair to relax in the river. Kids love jumping into the water from the falls. If you don't have a state park sticker you can park on the road and save the entry fee. Head east on M-68 from Onaway, approximately 10 miles to Ocqueoc Falls Road. This road makes a sharp angle intersection with the highway just after the highway makes a large “S” curve from east to north, then back to east. Turn left on Ocqueoc falls Road to the parking lot on the right.

The last ferry back is at 9:00 pm for anyone not wishing to stay on the island overnight. There are also ferries, (Sheplers/Star Line) that depart from Mackinaw City for anyone not interested in going over the bridge. USE SHEPLERS DISCOUNT CODE: lily at https://www.sheplersferry.com. You can also buy at the dock. Refer Ramirez/Mendoza wedding. There are plenty of activities to do on the island for everyone. Please visit https://www.mackinacisland.org/visit/activities to plan your activities. We enjoy bike riding around the island and work our way up to Sunset Rock (where the proposal went down!). It is located behind The Inn At Stonecliffe. Along the way we stop at the ice cream shack for a bathroom break. Review the island map to plan your places of interest.
