Kelly & Mike

In 2017, Mike and I were members of a CrossFit gym in Kennesaw. We spent months getting to know each other in a group setting and hanging out with friends from the gym. In July 2017, Mike and I went on our first date together at Taqueria Tsunami in Marietta Square... the rest is history!!

In September of 2022, Mike competed in a CrossFit competition in Pensacola Beach, Florida. I was convinced Mike was going to ask me over the weekend... My parents were in town as well to visit the beach and cheer on Mike. Mike and I went to dinner the weekend before we left, where I hinted at the idea he would propose during our time in Pensacola Beach. He was persistent about not having an engagement at the beach.....needless to say, I was bummed. We arrived in Pensacola on Friday and our gym planned a dinner, along with a group photo on the beach. My parents, Mike, Libby, and I went to the beach for the group photo. As planned, we took a group photo with all our friends on the beach. After the group photo, our close friends Daniel and Courtney asked us to take a few photos together. We took some photos and Courtney offered to take a photo with the two of us and Libby. As usual, I kneeled down next to Libby and everyone was saying "Stand up." I was so confused, but complied... As I stood up, Mike got down on one knee and asked me to be his Bride!! It was the easiest Yes! The weekend was truly magical, as all our friends and family were there to witness our beach engagement !! (Also, Mike finished 2nd place in his competition!!)
