We met as colleagues at while teaching at Bel Air High School in 2005. Kelly left Bel Air and went on to teach at Edgewood and Loyola. Mike left teaching and worked at a law firm in Towson. Mike missed working with students and returned to a position teaching at C. Milton Wright in 2014. Two years later, Kelly came back to public school and got also got a job at C. Milton Wright. She was glad to see a familiar face from the old Bel Air High School and she always liked talking to Mike because he was such a passionate teacher. When Mike found out Kelly was coming to teach at C. Milton, he told his colleagues, "she's one of the good ones."

On a weekend away in Harpers Ferry, Mike proposed on a sunrise hike at a lookout point near the Old Hilltop Hotel--the place where we first talked about getting married.
