Denver Airport

For those traveling from outside of Colorado, Denver International Airport (DEN) is the closest major airport. Once you land in Denver, you have the option to either rent a car and drive to Estes Park (about 75 miles) or take the Estes Park Shuttle directly from the airport.

Travel Note

Transportation

A shuttle service is available to and from Estes Park and the Denver airport. Please note that Uber & other taxi/rideshare services are not available in Estes Park so we recommend renting a car if you plan to explore the town, National Park, and surrounding areas. Prices for flights and car rentals can fluctuate wildly throughout the spring and summer so we encourage you to set Google travel alerts to take advantage of any price decreases.

Where Should We Stay?

If you are looking to stay close to the venue and just outside of town, we encourage you to look at The Inn on Fall River, The Evergreens, and StoneBrook on Fall River. In addition to these three recommendations, there are a large number of lodges and cabin rentals available along Fall River Road and the river that will put you close to the venue and the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. If you are looking to stay closer to town, there are a variety of hotels and resorts available. Murphy's Resort, Estes Park Resort, and the historic Stanley Hotel are popular places to consider. There are also many options for cabin and condo rentals in the area available through VRBO and AirBnb. The venue has a bed-and-breakfast with a small number of 2-person rooms available for booking as well as a limited number of on-site cabin rentals for larger parties or families. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us for recommendations on where to stay!

Travel Note

High Elevation

Estes Park sits around 7,500 feet above sea level. For those not accustomed to higher elevations, we want to ensure you have a wonderful and safe experience. Altitude sickness can occur when you ascend too quickly and can manifest with symptoms such as headache, nausea, dizziness, and fatigue. These symptoms may begin 6-12 hours after arrival and typically resolve within 1-2 days. To help prevent altitude sickness drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated and take it easy on your first day or two to help your body adjust. If you plan to hike, begin with shorter and less steep trails, saving longer and higher elevation hikes for later in your trip. Also, keep in mind that alcohol can have a stronger effect at high altitudes.
