They were both on eHarmony. But never matched (epic fail eHarmony). They met through their good friends Sarah and Steph (who will be marrying them). On date number four, 2.14.2014, Bill asked Kelly to be his girlfriend (just like in grade school. And she loved it! Poor guy suffered through his first glass of red wine, for her. Which she also loved). They bought a condo together in Salem, MA in January 2016, a year and a half before they got engaged (many say that's more of a commitment than marriage. And many thought they were nuts for buying instead of renting). They love: wine (Bill no longer suffers), cider, art (Kelly brought some sophistication into Bill's life), gaming (Bill helped Kelly chill the hell out and have some fun), hiking, biking, sailing and other fun water activities (they dream of one day owning a boat), food, food food! (dining out, cooking in, cheese and charcuterie, pizza, Ledger, just to name a few), traveling and road tripping together (they're slowly crossing places off their list), movies and TV. Bill loves how Kelly is such a goofball and that not everyone gets to see that side of her and he knows his life will be filled with laughter, respect, support and so much love. Kelly hates heights, but loves how Bill proposed and she knows her life will be filled with adventure, patience, kindness and so much love. Let's face it. Not much is going to change after their wedding. This isn't the start to their love and life together. They just wanted an excuse to party with the people they love and celebrate their love for each other. They can't wait to see you all on 9.9.18!
We got engaged during our Lake Placid vacation. So many things went wrong during that trip: the town had no power when we arrived, the proposal almost didn't happen because of the weather, and we got stranded at a rest stop right after I said yes. But, none of that mattered. Bill surprised me with an amazing and beautiful hot air balloon ride! And he proposed 2000 feet up in the air!! I was terrified being up that high, but in that instant right after he proposed and I said yes, I was no longer scared. I felt safe knowing I would be spending the rest of my life with my best friend and the man of my dreams. And who would've known this man of my dreams was so romantic!
It's only fitting we are getting married in a restaurant, seeing how much we love to eat and drink. The first time we ate at Ledger, which used to be an old bank, we had dinner at the bar. Ten minutes after being there, I knew it was the place for our wedding. Click on "Venue and Accommodations" at the top of the page for more info on our favorite restaurant.
