What date should I RSVP by?

Answer

We kindly ask that you RSVP by April 30th.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We’d love to see our family and friends dressed up for our big day! Dress code is garden party formal attire. Floor length, tea length, or midi dresses are appropriate, as well as a suit & tie or dress pants and a button down shirt. Colorful outfits and floral patterns are welcomed!

I have a dietary restriction/allergy - will I still be able to eat?

Answer

Yes! Our meals cover a range of dietary preferences (see the list below). On the RSVP form, please list any additional allergies or dietary restrictions, and the venue will ensure that your dinner accommodates those restrictions. Starter Red Wine Poached Pear Salad - romaine, spinach and radicchio lettuce with poached half pear, dried cherries, toasted almonds, Gorgonzola cheese and raspberry vinaigrette Entree Options Braised Short Rib - served over garlic mashed potatoes, roasted root vegetables and veal demi and fried chip Roasted New England Cod - 8 oz. baked cod served over farro risotto with artichoke hearts, apples, onion, and mushrooms topped with lobster bisque Chicken Coq Au Vin - frenched chicken breast simmered with mushrooms, pearl onions, lardons, fresh herbs and red wine served over mashed potatoes Miso Glazed Grilled Japanese Eggplant - served with rice ratatouille (Vegan, Gluten Free)

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We have limited the number of plus ones to ensure an intimate celebration with our closest friends and family. However, if there is someone special you would like to bring, please reach out to us and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

What are the addresses of the wedding ceremony and reception venues?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception will be held at The Pond House Cafe in West Hartford. The address is 1555 Asylum Avenue, West Hartford, CT 06117.

Is there parking available near your wedding venue?

Answer

There is a large parking lot in front of the visitor center for guests. For guests staying at the hotel, there will be a shuttle to and from the venue. Uber, Lyft, and taxis for hire are all available in the area. Once you have arrived, there will be signage and ushers directing guests to the ceremony space.

Is there a block of hotel rooms reserved for guests?

Answer

We have reserved a block of rooms at the Simsbury 1820 House for out-of-town guests. Please see the "Travel" page for more information.

Question

Will there be a shuttle to and from the hotel?

Answer

There will be a shuttle that goes from the Simsbury 1820 House to the Pond House Cafe prior to the ceremony. The shuttle will leave the hotel at 3:45pm. There will be two shuttles that return from the Pond House to the Simsbury 1820 House - the first will leave the venue at 9:25pm and the second will leave at 10:15pm.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Answer

The Pond House Ceremony and reception spaces are all on one level and is wheelchair accessible.

How early can I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

All guests will be allowed in the venue 15 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony (4:15 pm). While you cannot enter the venue till then, you are welcome to walk around the surrounding park and gardens.

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

We are having an “unplugged” ceremony (no phones or cameras). The greatest gift you can give us is being fully present as we say “I do”. We have hired professionals to capture this moment for us and we promise to share our photos as soon as we receive them. After the ceremony, feel free to take as many photos and videos as you’d like!
